Competition Rules
World Cup Super Soccer Picks is a skill-based football prediction game. Prize positions are decided by points, published scoring rules and tie-breakers, not by a random draw, raffle or lottery.
Prize fund is funded separately by the organiser and is not taken from charity donations. Planned split: £100 winner · £25 runner-up.
Gift Aid is not applicable for this purpose, so please leave it unticked when making your JustGiving donation.
Players must be aged 18 or over. Entries are void where prohibited by local law. The organiser may reject entries where participation or prize payment is not permitted.
Places are counted when an entry is submitted. Draft entries do not reserve a place. Already-submitted players can edit and re-submit before the entry lock.
Entries and pick changes lock one hour before the opening match. You can edit and re-submit before the lock. After the lock, picks can be viewed but not changed.
Donation confirmation may be checked manually against JustGiving. Players should paste their Super Soccer Picks reference into the JustGiving donation message where possible.
How points are scored
Group-stage picks
Pick Team A, Draw or Team B for every group match.
- Correct match result: +2
- Your picks are also used to build your predicted group tables.
Group table bonuses
Your group-stage picks create predicted final group tables.
- Correct group winner: +5
- Correct group runner-up: +3
- Correct top two, but in the wrong order: +2
- Correct third-place qualifier: +2
Knockout route scoring
Points are awarded when your picked team reaches the next stage, even if the exact opponent or route changes.
- R32 pick reaches the Round of 16: +4
- R16 pick reaches the quarter-finals: +6
- Quarter-final pick reaches the semi-finals: +8
- Semi-final pick reaches the final: +10
- Champion pick wins the tournament: +15
Example: if you pick England to win the tournament, you still get the champion points if England win it, even if they beat a different finalist than the one you predicted.
Final bonus picks
Each final bonus pick is worth +5 if correct, otherwise 0.
- Surprise Qualifier: selected team reaches the knockouts.
- Wooden Spoon: selected team is the worst group-stage team.
- QF Outsider: selected team reaches the quarter-finals.
Wooden Spoon is decided by fewest group points, then worst goal difference, fewest goals scored, most goals conceded, worst disciplinary record, then FIFA ranking if still tied. If it reaches the FIFA ranking tie-breaker, the higher-ranked team is treated as worse because they underperformed more.
Tie-breaker goals
Predict total goals across all 104 tournament matches. This is only used if prize places are tied.
- Normal-time and extra-time goals count.
- Penalty shoot-out goals do not count.
Prize tie-break order
- Total points
- Closest total-goals tie-breaker
- Highest knockout route points
- Most correct group winners
- Prize shared if still tied
Optional questions and stickers
Confidence and hot-take answers are optional. They do not affect points, prize ranking or tie-breakers, but may be used for leaderboard updates or social posts.
Secret Legend Sticker challenges may be added during the tournament. They are collection-only and do not affect scoring, leaderboard position or prize ranking.
This is a small private/fun football prediction game. The organiser may correct obvious errors, resolve technical issues and verify final scoring against official tournament results.
